Usher popped into the Chicago Sky’s locker room to congratulate Angel Reese and the team after they dominated the court, beating the Las Vegas Aces 93 to 85 on July 16. During the team’s encounter with the R&B legend, Reese appeared to be smitten by the Confessions singer after he whispered “Angel, baby” in her ear. Angel Reese and Usher’s encounter is making headlines.
The lighthearted moment was captured on TikTok on Tuesday, showing Reese and the 45-year-old singer standing together, smiling. Reese, 22, playfully requested Usher to say his famous phrase, “Usher, baby,” for fans on social media. However, the WNBA star got an unexpected surprise when Usher leaned in close and whispered “Angel, baby” into her ear, sparking laughter and a faint blush from the 6-foot-3 forward player.
“Seems like he loves you baby!” wrote one user.
Another fan commented, “I would have melted too, sis!”
Usher also left a sweet comment for the WNBA star writing, “Much love!” along with a heart emoji.

A video posted on the Hoop Life YouTube channel also captured the Grammy Award-winning artist escorted by Sky coach Teresa Witherspoon, congratulating the team, exchanging high-fives, and posing for a group photo.

Angel Reese wasn’t the only baller swooning in Usher’s presence. A’ja Wilson and Usher have had a friendly-flirty fanship ever since she tweeted about her love for him and he serenaded her at his Vegas residency. In a later interview, A’ja invited Usher to attend a game. He finally showed up and now A’ja is going viral for clowning her Aces teammates following a devastating home loss.
“They ain’t did sh– all day, but they wanna take a motherf—— picture with Usher,” she said jokingly. A’ja scored 28 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks but it wasn’t enough to secure the win in front of the R&B great.

In May, Latto flew into Arlington, Texas, to watch her bestie Angel Reese make her debut with the Chicago Sky. A video shared to Reese’s X account on May 15 showed the “Put It On The Floor” rapper sitting court side all smiles as she cheered on the former LSU Tigers player at her inaugural game.
Decked down in a bright pink A Bathing Ape hoodie, an icy cross-chain and stunner shades, when asked by a reporter why she attended the game, the Georgia native confidently stated that she traveled to the College Park Center arena strictly to see “Angel Reese” go all out on the court. During the showdown, the 25-year-old emcee posed for pictures alongside Reese.
