CHICAGO — The ongoing global technology outage impacted all 138 DMV locations in Illinois on Friday.

While service has been restored at all Chicago and suburban facilities, Max Walczyk, a communications manager for Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias, says work continues to restore services for all of the state’s DMV facilities.

“We expect that all DMVs will be operating at 100 percent by later this afternoon,” Walczyk said.

In the interim, officials encouraged Illinois residents to call (800) 252-8980 to ensure their preferred DMV location was up and running. Residents may also ‘Skip the Line’ by visiting www.ilso s.gov to complete services, which include license, plate, and registration renewals.
