(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The outages impacted hospitals, including those in the Chicago area.

Hospitals reported canceling some procedures as well as issues with scheduling. All kinds of systems were down, highlighting the vulnerability of so many entities relying on the same technology.

They found the so-called “blue screens of death.”

Loyola Medicine reported issues with work stations and applications. It said it expected a quick resolution.

Rush Medical Center said their information services department was able to restore all of its critical clinical systems.

University of Chicago Medicine said clinical and operational teams worked throughout the night and morning “to ensure all patient care has been able to continue safely.”

As of 10 a.m., the “vast majority of systems” had been restored, UChicago Medicine said, noting “work areas without full access should continue to follow their regular downtime procedures.”
They advised, as did others, “employees should reboot any workstations that are malfunctioning.”
