According to police, during each burglary, a group of up to five individuals, with two people acting as lookouts, broke through the front windows or doors of the businesses before stealing money from the cash register or ATM machine. Officers say in some instances, the people responsible stole the entire ATM machine.

Chicago police provided the following list of dates and locations where the burglaries unfolded:

    1. 5200 block of West Chicago Avenue at 5:17 a.m. on June 27
    2. 3900 block of West Monroe Street between 7:30 p.m. on June 28 and 7:55 a.m. on June 29.

Officers say the people responsible were spotted wearing hoodies, face masks and gloves during the incidents.

On Friday, Chicago police shared surveillance video that captured one of the burglaries.

Police advise businesses to keep the perimeter of their property well-lit and to report any suspicious activity. Police say businesses should keep doors and windows secured and advise owners to quickly repair any broken windows, doors, or locks.
