NFL analyst boldly sides with Commanders QB Jayden Daniels over Caleb Williams

The debate pitting Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels against Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is just getting started.

So it goes at the top of a draft class where Williams went first overall and Daniels went second.

But appearing on ESPN’s “Get Up” recently, Kimberly Martin pointed out the overall roadmap of the franchises as a reason Daniels is actually in a better position to succeed.

“I think in Washington, you have a situation where, we have reset the culture, we are looking for the future,” Martin said . “I think that is an easier situation to be in than in Chicago.”

It’s an interesting aspect of the conversation. Williams will get to develop right alongside ninth-overall pick Rome Odunze as his top weapon at wideout. The pressure putting jobs at risk is more on head coach Matt Eberflus and a staff tasked with preventing a sixth straight season of .500 or worse.

At the same time, one can’t argue against the idea that Daniels might be in a slightly better overall situation as new head coach Dan Quinn and offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury arrive to steer a rebuild, with possibly more patience to go around for all involved.
