    CPD release video of 3 hammer-wielding suspects wanted for North Side break-ins

    CHICAGO — Chicago police have released surveillance video of three suspects wanted for multiple break-ins on the city’s North Side.

    Police said the group targeted four businesses in an hour-span. The three suspects used a hammer to break into the establishments and steal cash.

    The surveillance video distributed by police captures the suspects in a white vehicle pull up to business, look inside and then go back to the vehicle to get a hammer.

    Police said they smashed their way into the bars and restaurants and straight to the cash register.

    According to police, the three suspects hit the first business in the 1400 block of West Balmoral in Edgewater around 2:30 a.m. Friday, and then drove west into Edison Park.

    There, they targeted three more businesses: one in the 6100 block of North Northwest Highway and two in the 6700 block of North Omsted, which include the Edison Park Inn bar and Moretti’s restaurant.

    Police have not released a detailed description of the suspects.

    No one is in custody. An investigation is underway.
