Angel Reese Admits Chicago Sky Teammates 'Need Her' During WNBA Rookie Season

It didn't take Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese to become an integral part of her WNBA team's identity.

Not only has Reese's elite rebounding and assertiveness in the paint transformed the Sky into a physical and dominant force, but her tenacity and grit has been adopted by her teammates as well.

Hence why it made sense for Reese to admit that her teammates need her during a recent episode of the "In Case You Missed It with Khristina Williams" podcast.

"I know my teammates need me," Reese responded when asked by Williams what pushes her to be her best self on the court.

"I know my teammates need a lot out of me, and I just try to live up to what I'm supposed to do every night, and the expectations are high for me," the rookie added.

Nobody can deny that Reese has completely changed the Sky's franchise, both on and off the court.

This is proven by the Sky announcing Thursday morning that they're breaking ground on a new $38 million training facility that will be available during the 2026 WNBA season.

While Chicago has surely had this in the works for some time, the added attention (and revenue) Reese brings must have made it more feasible.
