    Boat capsizes near 31st Street Beach, 15 rescued, 3 sent to hospital, 1 still missing

    CHICAGO — A search continues this morning for a missing boater after more than a dozen people were rescued after a boat capsized in Lake Michigan near 31st Street Beach, according to the Chicago Police Department.

    CPD said a total of 16 males and females went missing when the boat capsized around 7:30 p.m. Friday near the 3100 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

    15 people are accounted for so far, with three of the rescued boaters — A man and two women — Taken by the Chicago Fire Department to Insight Hospital in good condition.

    One adult male is still unaccounted for, according to police.

    CPD’s Marine Unit is actively investigating the incident near 31st Street Harbor.

    No other information is available at this time.
