As summer online shopping heats up, don’t get burned by falling for the hottest local scam.

Sizzling midsummer prices and timely deadlines can easily lead shoppers to leap before they look as online sales remain the No. 1 scam for our region.

Great ways to keep yourself safe include: always researching businesses before making a purchase, and double-checking email addresses and website URLs. Look for anything unusual to detect lookalike imposters.
