CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A newborn baby and his father were both taken to the hospital in critical condition after a shooting in Little Village Saturday afternoon.

A 3-month-old boy and his 21-year-old father were shot while in a car outside the Walgreens near 26th and Whipple Streets, according to Chicago police.

Officers said it happened shortly after 4:30 p.m., when a car pulled up to the victims. Two men got out and started shooting before leaving the scene.

The boy was shot in the chest, and his father was shot four times on his right side, according to police.

The baby's mother was reportedly in the vehicle with the victims, as well, but she was not shot.

No one is in custody, and police are investigating.
