The Chicago Bears and wide receiver DJ Moore reached an agreement on a four-year, $110 million contract extension, agents Drew Rosenhaus, Jason Rosenhaus, and Robert Bailey told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Moore’s multi-year contract, which includes $82.6 million guaranteed, is the largest deal in Bears franchise history.

Chicago Bears’ DJ Moore is the first wide receiver in NFL history to have had the first 10 years of his career years guaranteed

The 6-foot, 201-pounder now has had the first 10 years of his career years guaranteed, a first in league history for a wide receiver. His $110 million contract makes him the fifth-highest-paid receiver in the NFL.

He trails only Davante Adams ($141.25 million), Justin Jefferson ($140 million), Tyeeek Hill ($120 million), and Amon-Ra St. Brown ($120 million). Moore’s $27.5 million average annual value puts him seventh in the NFL just above Cooper Kupp ($26.7 million).

Moore, 27, is now under contract with Chicago through the 2029 season. In his first season with the Bears in 2023, he posted career highs of 96 receptions, 1,364 receiving yards, and eight touchdown receptions.

Furthermore, Moore was selected 24th overall by the Carolina Panthers in the 2018 draft out of the University of Maryland, College Park. He spent his first five seasons (2018-22) with the Panthers before the club traded him to Chicago in March 2023.

Pro Football Focus has Moore as the 12th-best receiver going into the 2024 season

Through 97 career games (90 starts), he has totaled 460 receptions for 6,565 yards and 29 touchdowns. He has also totaled 317 first downs while averaging 4.7 receptions and 67.7 receiving yards per game.

Additionally, Pro Football Focus shows Moore as the 12th-best receiver going into the 2024 season. “He has proven to be an exceptionally effective receiver in all areas regardless of quarterback during his career,” Sam Monson wrote in May.

Bears head coach Matt Eberflus also praised Moore prior to this year’s NFL draft.

“Our best players are gonna be our hardest workers, and they have to be our best finishers. They have to be available for practices out there. DJ is certainly that; he’s as tough as they come.

“He’s a great teammate, and he’s our hardest worker. He’s [also] one of our most talented guys. … That’s the example all the young guys follow.”

Of course, the Bears offense will have a different look going into the 2024 season, with rookie quarterback Caleb Williams and new fellow receivers Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze.
