Bears Extend DJ More to Largest Deal In Franchise History

Chicago Bears' training camp is in full swing, and the buzz around the team just got a little more exciting. Top wide receiver DJ Moore signed a contract extension with the team Tuesday, and the deal will pay him $110 million over four years.

Moore's new contract is the largest in Bears franchise history at $82.6 million in guaranteed money. The deal also ensures Moore will have the first 10 years of his career guaranteed, an NFL first.

In his first season with the Bears, Moore logged 96 receptions for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns. His production and deserved new deal put him in line with the rest of the top wide receivers in the league. Minnesota Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson received a four-year, $140 million deal this offseason.

In his first season with the Bears, Moore was paired with quarterback Justin Fields, who ran frequently. Now, the stud wide receiver will get a chance to play with gunslinger Caleb Williams for the foreseeable future. Moore will also have additional support as the Bears traded for Keenan Allen and drafted Rome Odunze this offseason. If Chicago's offense can live up to on-paper projections, Moore and Williams could become the NFC North's top quarterback-wide receiver duo for the next half-decade.

Moore had two years left on his deal, but Ryan Poles made locking up the 27-year-old a top priority. Poles continues to impress after trading for star defensive end Montez Sweat last season and signing him to a lucrative extension . Such deals show Chicago is a place where top talent can come and get taken care of.
