The Bears and Texans will serve as an appetite to give NFL fans their early season fix despite it only being the first game of preseason NFL action.

The Bears are in the midst of a rebuild thanks to a productive draft class, which included No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams from USC (who will not play Thursday night) and a boatload of talent alongside him. The Bears managed to retain Matt Eberflus while building a foundation for future success by extending star wideout D.J. Moore .

Chicago has not sniffed a Super Bowl appearance since the 2006-07 season, last winning a Super Bowl to cap off the 1985-86 season, their only Lombardi Trophy in franchise history.

Meanwhile, the Texans are inching closer to success as they seek their first Super Bowl in franchise history and rely on second-year quarterback C.J. Stroud to get them there.
