The Chicago White Sox have released right-handed relief pitcher Corey Knebel, per his transaction log . The 32-year-old veteran never made an appearance for the big-league club.

Knebel joined the White Sox on a non-roster invite to Spring Training looking to make his way back to a major league bullpen after missing all of the 2023 season due to injury. Unfortunately for the Texas native, that scenario didn't pan out as he continued to battle injury issues for most of the 2024 season.

In June, Knebel began a rehab assignment with the White Sox' High-A affiliate, the Winston-Salem Dash. He eventually made his way to Triple-A Charlotte, where he threw 5.1 innings of shutout baseball with eight strikeouts over six appearances.

Knebel will now enter the free-agent market in search of his next opportunity.
