    Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams.

Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams was in headlines earlier this week when it was learned he asked teammates to take better care of the locker room during training camp.

That story didn't sit well with Amani Toomer, a former New York Giants wide receiver and one-time Super Bowl champion.

"He’s Russell Wilson 2.0," Toomer said about Williams during a recent edition of FS1's "The Carton Show," per Dylan Svoboda of the New York Post. "This is not gonna go over well. … Some rookie’s gonna come in who hasn’t played one snap, talking, wearing the fingernail polish, now he’s gonna come in here and tell me, who has been here, been through the struggle, that I need to clean up?"

Williams' alleged "Hollywood" reputation hung over him until Chicago made him the No. 1 overall pick of this year's draft on April 25. Some questioned this past spring if Williams actually "loves football," and multiple scouts rated him "last overall in immeasurables" among quarterbacks in his draft class.

As for Wilson, the current Pittsburgh Steelers signal-caller was ripped for being a "poser" and for reportedly losing locker room members during his two-season stint with the Denver Broncos. Denver parted ways with Wilson this past March.

"No, how about you, rookie? How about you clean up after me? Don’t give me this crap," Toomer continued during the segment. "I don’t like it at all. I feel like rookies should earn their respect. Just because you got drafted No. 1 doesn’t mean nothing to me."

For what it's worth, veteran Chicago players do not share Toomer's opinion about Williams' request. As for Williams' dedication to the cause, he revealed this week that he's embraced parts of the "TB12" diet that retired quarterback Tom Brady famously followed during seasons.

As of Friday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook listed Williams as the betting favorite at +135 odds to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award for the upcoming season. If Williams meets or exceeds such high expectations, critics such as Toomer could look foolish by Week 18.
