Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams hasn’t even played a down yet in the NFL and he’s already guaranteed to make more money than a lot of his veteran teammates have made throughout their careers.

Before training camp started, Williams signed a four-year, $39.5 million fully guaranteed contract, which came with a nice $25.5M signing bonus to boot.

When Williams revealed to his teammates how much his bonus was on a sneak preview of “Hard Knocks,” which was shown during Thursday’s Hall of Fame Game between the Bears and Houston Texans, some of them had pretty entertaining reactions, specifically backup quarterback Tyson Bagent, who fell back in his seat and writhed about stunned.

It’s easy to see why Bagent had such a visceral reaction to Williams’ news. Only $250,000 of the 24-year-old’s three-year, $2.72M rookie contract is guaranteed and he received a signing bonus of only $25,000, per Spotrac .

The new season of “Hard Knocks” officially premiers Aug. 6 on Max.
