Search on for person missing in Lake Michigan at Foster Beach, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago police say crews are searching for someone who went missing in Lake Michigan at Foster Sunday evening and never resurfaced.

Officials say the marine unit is responding to the area to search for a male who entered the water and has not been found. The distress call came in around 7 p.m.

A helicopter and dive team were brought in to find the missing swimmer.

The search was ongoing Sunday evening.

No further information was immediately available.
