Former White Sox manager calls out team amid 21-game losing streak

The Chicago White Sox have had a miserable season to date. With their loss on Monday night, they extended their losing streak to 21 games.

Chicago is 27-88, which is good for the worst record in Major League Baseball, and changes might be coming soon.

On Foul Territory , former manager Ozzie Guillen discussed the team's shortcomings and why he thinks they're struggling so badly under manager Pedro Grifol.

"I think they're not playing hard enough, good enough for him the way they should," Guillen said. "Most of the time he says something we want to hear or protecting somebody. The one thing he has to do is make sure those guys go out and play they should play."

Guillen is rarely one to mince words, and he did hold back when discussing the White Sox.

The season obviously has gone off the rails for the South Siders at this point, and there is no saving them from missing the postseason. But Guillen made sure to get his point across and called out Grifol for not being able to motivate them.

"Major League Baseball players have to play hard," Guillen continued. "They get paid a lot of money to play hard. It's a different thing to play hard and play good."

Guillen clearly doesn't like what he's seeing and believes that there is plenty of blame to go around for a team that has lost more games than any other in baseball.

Guillen managed the team to a World Series title in 2005 and also led them to the postseason in 2008.
