"Don't lie to my face": White Sox fans demand better from team's manager

It's safe to say that things aren't going great with the Chicago White Sox.

That may be an understatement, of course, as they sit at 28-88, which the worst record in Major League Baseball. They also recently just snapped a 21-game losing streak, one that tied the 1988 Baltimore Orioles for the longest in American League history.

Fans have gotten tired of hearing the same thing every day from ownership, the front office, and manager Pedro Grifol.

On Foul Territory, Dave Williams of Barstool Sports called out Grifol for his statements on the team.

"Don't lie to my face," Williams demanded of Grifol. "I don't think that's a very unreasonable ask as a fan."

Williams went on about the lack of accountability taken by Grifol and his constant defenses of owner Jerry Reinsdorf.

It's obvious that things have gotten out of control with the White Sox, and at this point, fans are fed up with every aspect of the organization. Earlier in the decade, they were promised a chance to see a sustained winner, but that slipped away very quickly after the 2021 season.

They haven't been back to October since that year, when they won 93 games and captured the AL Central title. Their best season since then was 2022, and they finished at a mere .500.

It certainly hasn't been a pretty season for the South Siders, and fans are simply tired of hearing the same thing every night. They want accountability and they want to see a semblance of hope for the future.

However, it might be a while before we see the White Sox find their way back into contention. It certainly won't be happening in 2024.
