Raging Waves , Illinois' largest water park in Yorkville, IL, offers the perfect relief from the summer heat for families looking to cool off. The park features 32 attractions across 58 acres. There are tube rides, slides, a 350,000-gallon wave pool, and a ¼ mile-long lazy river for guests to enjoy. It's the perfect place to splash down this summer.

The park, now in its 16th season, was started by Randy Wit, his wife Dawn, and Randy's late brother-in-law Scott Melby. The Aussie-themed water park is 45 miles west of Chicago. "We are thrilled to kick off our 16th season and invite families back to Raging Waves this summer," said Randy Witt, Co-Owner of Raging Waves. "Offering guests the very best in family fun has always been at the forefront for our team at Raging Waves, and we cannot wait for guests to enjoy all that our waterpark has to offer!" One of the newest attractions, added in 2021, was the Aussie Mat Dash. This six-lane race track is just one of three in the world and allows up to six friends or family members to challenge each other to the bottom of the slide. The tubes twist and turn, leading to a final splash at the end. It's a thrilling ride and great fun for groups.

Those looking for a little more speed will enjoy the Wonambi. This four-person raft ride stands towering 68 feet above the ground. Riders will travel over 30 mph through a 720° downward spiral. It's an intense ride, soaring up a 43-foot wave wall for a near-vertical, zero-gravity experience. This thrilling ride will make even the bravest person scream.

Families with small children will enjoy Koala Kove. It features four slides with minimal depth pools, making it the perfect introduction to water park life. The Kangaroo Falls offers a four-story water fort filled with bridges and squirting fountains that is fun for the whole family.

The park has lounge chairs and shaded areas, but if you're looking for a more private experience, the park offers 43 private cabanas for rent. Food can be ordered directly to your rental spot for an additional charge.

The park has several dining options, which range from hot dogs to walking tacos to salads. They also offer picnic tables in the parking lot if you pack your meal.
