Upon the announcement, Congressman Allen issued the following statement: "With Plant Vogtle's nuclear units 3 and 4 fully operational and providing a stable, baseload supply of electricity to Georgia homes and businesses, now is the time to build on this tremendous success and explore further expansion of America's nuclear energy capabilities. This bipartisan nuclear energy package, including my Nuclear Licensing Efficiency Act, will help streamline future nuclear projects in the U.S. so that we may fully embrace the reliability of clean, 24/7 nuclear energy for generations to come. I am thankful for Chair Rodgers’ leadership on this issue and am pleased that my colleagues and I on the Energy and Commerce Committee were able to get this legislation over the finish line. I look forward to seeing its positive impact on America's energy sector."
