Versailles’ John Wayne Richard honored
VERSAILLES – The Fort GreeneVille Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution honored the family of John Wayne Richard before a large crowd at the Versailles Vet Club. John Wayne Richard was born on Monday, October 17th, 1949, to Leroy and Dorotha Richard. He lived his entire life in Versailles, Ohio, and was a 1968 Versailles High School graduate. He was the third of five children, having an older brother and sister, Jim and Jane, and younger siblings, a sister and brother, Kathy and Fred.
A Lima teen crashes a stolen car during a high speed chase on I-75
ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - A Lima teen was arrested after wrecking a stolen car in a high-speed chase overnight. Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol say that 16-year-old Ryan Aab was driving a car that was reported stolen in the northbound lane of I-75. When he didn't stop, Aab led police on an 11-mile chase into Hancock County. Findlay troopers aided in the chase, which ended when the teen hit the back of a pickup truck southwest of Findlay and his vehicle rolled over. No one in the pickup was injured, but Aab had minor injuries. He is currently in the Allen County Juvenile Detention Center. The prosecutor's office will review the case for further charges.

On July 12th, 2024, at approximately 7:04 PM police was dispatched to the Greenville Police Department in reference to a subject reporting an assault. PO made contact with Jeffery Franklin and his girlfriend, Katelyn Miron. Jeffery stated he was about to leave his residence to go fishing but forgot his phone inside of his apartment. Jeffery advised he was walking back to his apartment and Darnell Hicks approached him and asked him for a cigarette. Jeffery advised he was low on cigarettes and told Darnell no. Jeffrey stated Darnell grabbed him by the throat with two hands and began to choke him. Jeffrey advised that Darnell dug his nails into the side of Jeffrey’s necks. Jeffery advised he pushed Darnell off of him and went back inside of his residence. PO asked Jeffrey if he had any injuries. Jeffery showed PO a small red scratch mark on his neck and PO did observe redness on the base of his neck. Katelyn advised she did not see the whole altercation because she was inside with her children but did see Darnell choke Jeffery. Katelyn advised she yelled at both parties to stop and Jeffery went inside. Katelyn filled out a witness statement form. PO took photographs of Jeffery’s injuries. Jeffery filled out victim’s right’ sand statement form. After speaking to Jeffery and Katelyn, police went to the Townhouse Motel to speak with Darnell. Police made contact with Darnell and his friend, Lenton Tucker. PO asked them what had happened. Darnell advised Jeffery came up to the second floor balcony where they were sitting and asked for a cigarette. Darnell stated he asked Jeffery why he wanted to come to his “table” and stated that nobody wanted Jeffery around because he beats his girlfriend and kids. Darnell advised Jeffery went downstairs and was standing in front of his residence. Darnell advised he went downstairs and asked Lenton’s wife for a cigarette. Darnell advised Jeffery yelled at him to get away from his apartment. Darnell advised Jeffrey pushed him. Darnell advised he left to go to the store at that point. Darnell denied choking Jeffery. Darnell declined to fill out a statement. After speaking to Darnell, PO asked Lenton if he saw Darnell choke Jeffery. Lenton stated Darnell did not choke Jeffery. Lenton filled out a witness statement form. A Sgt. spoke to the wife of the owner of the Town House Motel in attempt to obtain camera footage of this incident. The subject stated she did not have access to the cameras because only her husband can access them. The subject advised the Sgt. she would contact her husband and have him get in contact with the Greenville Police Department.
