GRADY COUNTY, Okla. ( KFOR ) – Friends of a victim named in an ongoing federal suspicious death investigation in Chickasha say she was a family woman and servant.

Grady County authorities told News 4 they found the body of a woman Monday during a medical call. That investigation is now in the hands of the Federal Bureau of Investigation since the home is on tribal land.

News 4 confirmed with family and friends that Holly Miller, 50, of Chickasha was the victim.

Miller’s obituary says she was a Mangum native and Oklahoma Christian University graduate, earning a Bachelor’s in Social Work and then later separate Master’s Degrees in Social Work and Public Health.

She’s described as having a love for people and a drive to advocate for others which took her across different careers in Social Work, Home Health, Hospice and Senior Living. Miller, at the time of her death, was the Executive Director of Sand Sage of the Highlands Assisted Living in Mustang.

News 4 reached out to her place of employment for comment and received the following statement from a corporate spokesperson:

We would like to say, we are deeply saddened by this loss and to hear of the passing of Holly Miller. Holly was not only a leader and dedicated team member, but she was also a mentor and friend to our community associates and our residents. She touched the lives of many and she will be greatly missed. We are asking the greater community to keep Holly and her family in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult time.

A News 4 employee spoke with family friend Marisa White Friday, who told News 4 she had received permission from Miller’s family to speak about her.

“She just had this infectious personality that made everybody feel special and everybody feel loved,” said White. “She was a wonderful person inside and out.”

The mother of five, according to White and her obituary, constantly made time for her children at sporting and school events; cheering them on from the sidelines in life.

“She’s the type of person that was selfless,” said White. “She was constantly serving other people, and I think that’s where she found her true calling, was in helping others; especially the elderly and the seniors.”

White said that getting news of Miller’s passing was hard to cope with since one of her parents grew up with one of Miller’s and had stayed lifelong friends.

“I heard about her passing from my mom,” said White. “I called my husband into our bedroom immediately and we both were just in shock. It still just feels like it’s not real and it shouldn’t be.”

White said that Miller’s loss is a great tragedy for her family and the community who saw her as a friend, mentor and as a dedicated woman to her faith.

“The entire family is a faithful Christ following family,” said White. “I know that prayer is a powerful thing and Holly believed in that as well, and I think rallying around the family and praying for comfort and strength during this time [is important]. Also, respecting, you know, their grieving period as well.”

White said that Miller’s family is requesting that monetary donations be sent to the McRay Funeral Home in Chickasha for anyone who would like to support them during this time. Contact information for the funeral home is listed below:
