CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – July has been a hot and humid month so far and while there have been scattered showers and thunderstorms, there hasn’t been widespread rain for a while.

    The most dangerous heat-related illness

Since June 29th, there has been 0.23 inches of rain at Westover Air Base in Chicopee. While there are no significant signs of any drought, there are areas that have been placed under “abnormally dry” such as Berkshire, western Hampshire, and Franklin Counties.

Looking ahead, the next chance for rain would be Friday night into Saturday morning. It does not look like a widespread rain or a lot of rain but of course, we will take any rain we can get.
