Vernon netters receive state recognition
Vernon High School tennis players have received postseason honors as part of the Texas High School Coaches Association Class 3A Super Elite Team. Senior Kell Castleberry and sophomores Nevan Schur and Jonathan Medina were named to the team. This was Castleberry’s third time making the team.
Wilbarger General Hospital welcomes new CFO
Wilbarger General Hospital is excited to welcome Bridgette Lowery Reeves as the new CFO. Reeves’ family moved to Vernon in 1997 because her father, Bill Lowery, accepted the CFO position at WGH. She graduated from Vernon High School in 2000 and received a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from BYU-Idaho. Then, she moved to San Antonio to pursue a Master’s in Public Administration and became a Certified Public Accountant.
Guymon Man Arrested on Multiple Charges
On July 7th, a Texas County deputy sheriff initiated a traffic stop on Highway 54 at the Star Truck Wash. During the course of the stop, a K-9 screen was requested by the deputy. The K-9 handler informed the deputy that the dog had alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics inside the vehicle.
