United Way of Greater Hazleton to provide free backpacks, school supplies to local students

The United Way of Greater Hazleton, as part of its “Stuff the Bus” program, will be providing free backpacks and school supplies to students in the area ahead of the upcoming school year and due to high demand, organizers are asking families to register for the supplies by Aug. 2.
Man Arrested for Indecent Exposure in Mahanoy City
A man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison for an indecent exposure incident in Mahanoy City. According to court papers, David Roberts, 64, with a registered address of Jacksonville, FL, was charged with indecent exposure, open lewdness, and disorderly conduct by Mahanoy City Police Officer Hugh Clinton following an incident on July 14th, 2024.

Harrisburg, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Dept. of Community and Economic Development (DCED) has announced a new $200,000 investment into the Community Integrated Services Manufacturing Accelerator Program, which trains Pennsylvanians with disabilities to work with local manufacturers.
