The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash in Chili over the weekend.

Deputies said Jeff K. Tumia, 49, of Scottsville, was killed in the crash that occurred around 8:10 p.m. on Saturday on Beahan Road.

According to deputies, Tumia was traveling east on Beahan Road when he lost control, veered into the westbound lane, and collided with a guide rail, which caused him to be thrown from the motorcycle. Despite lifesaving attempts by EMS workers, Tumia died from his injuries.

“Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time,” said Deputy Brendan Hurley.
