CHILLICOTHE— From Adena Mansion to Zane's Trace Ross County is filled with a rich history. When looking at the ABCs of Ross County the T stands for Tecumseh.

Tecumseh was a Shawnee warrior and chief born in 1768. Born in Ohio, likely near where Chillicothe is today, he would often work with his family and other Native Americans to attempt to reach his goals. The biggest of which was getting land away from the Americans and giving it back to Native Americans. He would die fighting for this cause in 1813.

While Tecumseh may have died hundreds of years ago his story lives on through the outdoor drama put on each summer on Sugarloaf Mountain. The performance was inspired by the life of Tecumseh and brings audience members from around the world into the outdoor amphitheater.
