CHILLICOTHE – September will end with a bang for the Super DIRTcar Series as the Beasts of the Northeast debut at Ohio's Atomic Speedway for the two-day Rumble in the Hills – Sept. 27-28.

The event will lead into Super DIRT Week 52 (Oct. 7-12), awarding a guaranteed starting spot in the Billy Whittaker Cars 200 (Saturday, Oct. 12) both nights. Along with the lock-in spots, drivers will compete for big pay days both nights with Friday paying $10,000 to win and Saturday paying $12,000 to win. It’ll be the first time in the 3/8-mile dirt track’s history that Big Block Modifieds compete there.

The World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Models recently competed at the track and former Super DIRTcar Series driver Max McLaughlin – now a rookie on the World of Outlaws tour – shared his excitement for seeing Big Blocks at the track.

“I think the Modifieds will put on a really good show here,” McLaughlin said. “We (the Late Models) kind of have to search for grip. Right rear stick to the black (part of the track), we don’t do that, where the Big Blocks do a lot of momentum to the black racing. When you get the Big Blocks to a track where you can do that at, it usually puts on a pretty good show.”

The event will also continue Matt Sheppard and Mat Williamson’s duel for the 2024 Super DIRTcar Series championship. Sheppard is chasing a historic 11th Series title and Williamson is chasing his second title. Sheppard is also trying to reach a career milestone of 100 Super DIRTcar Series wins – currently sitting at 97.
