CHILLICOTHE— The list of things to do in Chillicothe just grew with the newly opened laser range and cigar emporium The Smoking Gun.
The Smoking Gun is a combination cigar emporium and laser gun range. Owners Lindsey and Robert Fasold created the shop after Robert realized he was driving an hour one way to get quality cigars after moving to the area. He then combined his passion for cigars with his love of firearms and created an indoor laser shooting range in the back of the store. He hopes to give people a "full experience" when they visit.
When entering the aesthetically dark and moody store customers are greeted with a variety of quality cigars. Those who might not know what kind they want can find out more about what is offered or check out a beginner's pack, perfect for gifts or those just starting out.
In the back, there are three laser ranges for people to use. Each range comes with its own laser gun, headphones and a variety of games perfect for single or multi-players. The first range is also ADA-compliant making the shop available to everyone.
While they can't buy cigars children can use the laser guns. the Fasolds hope that this range provides a safe space for parents to start teaching their children about gun safety since there are no real guns or live ammo being used.
Located in the downtown area the Fasolds are excited to bring something new to the area. They hope the shop will be a good thing for the community by offering new entertainment while also recommending other downtown stores and restaurants to customers. They are happy to be a part of the community that has helped them open the store.
"The community here has been a blessing," said Robert. "It was one of the things we fell in love with in Chillicothe."
