CHILLICOTHE — A Ross County Grand Jury recently indicted a homeless Chillicothe man after he attacked another individual according to Todd Bost, an investigator for the Ross County Prosecutor's Office.

Officers were dispatched to an incident in the Floyd Simantel Clinic in Chillicothe after a man was attacked. The victim stated he had gone to sit in the sunroom when the door was forced open and the defendant came in striking him and choking him. Officers noted that the victim had multiple lacerations, contusions, swelling and bruises.

Officers found Samuel Brown at the intersection of Main Street and North Bridge Street. When contact was made it was observed that Brown had blood on his gray hoodie and blood on both of his hands. When asked if he had done any substances the defendant said he had smoked some weed, when asked about harder drugs he admitted to smoking something else but he was not sure what, according to Bost.

Brown is facing up to 11 years and a $20,000 fine for aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony, and up to 8 years and a $15,000 fine for felonious assault, a second-degree felony.

The grand jury met in a term where 14 cases were presented and 13 cases were true bills.
