Knot Fire reaches 70% containment
CHILOQUIN, Ore. – Updated at 9:50 a.m.: The Knot Fire is now 1,551 acres and 70% contained, according to ODF's Klamath-Lake District. "With more accurate mapping the fire size is 1,551 acres and currently 100% lined with a combination of dozer and hand line. Yesterday crews focused on securing the existing line and mopping up around the fire edge," the release said. "Today there will be multiple type 2 hand crews that consist of 20 people, contract equipment and several engines. Crews will continue to patrol the fire line to ensure the fire is held within the original footprint. ...Firefighters will continue to work the fire until it reaches full containment which is predicted by the end of the week."
