17-year-old girl dead after car collides with train in Chilton County
Clanton Police Department says they were dispatched just before noon to Cooedy Road and a railroad crossing. Once on scene they found an accident involving a car and a train. The driver was a 17-year old female according to the coroner. She was found dead as a result of the injuries.
Vehicle struck Alabama Sen. April Weaver in crosswalk; she's recovering from injuries
ALABASTER, Ala. — State lawmaker April Weaver continues to recover after a vehicle struck her while walking Friday night. Weaver confirmed to WVTM 13 News that she was walking in a crosswalk at a grocery store in Alabaster on July 12 when she was struck and suffered some injuries.

On Tuesday at 2:14 p.m. an updated heat advisory was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 7 p.m. for Lamar, Fayette, Walker, Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Sumter, Greene, Hale, Perry, Bibb, Chilton, Coosa, Tallapoosa, Chambers, Marengo, Dallas, Autauga, Lowndes, Elmore, Montgomery, Macon, Bullock, Lee, Russell, Pike and Barbour counties.
