PBS’s ‘Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood’ Coming To Riverside’s Castle Park
RIVERSIDE, CA — Characters from the Emmy Award-winning television series “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” are coming to Riverside County. Riverside’s Castle Park, 3500 Polk Street, will welcome characters Daniel Tiger and Katerina Kittycat on August 23, 24 and 31 and September 1. Their appearances mark a first at the family-friendly amusement park.
SBCC Lake Los Angeles at the Raptor Opening
San Dimas – Lake Los Angeles was well represented at the Grand Opening of the San Dimas Raptor Rescue located at the San Dimas Canyon Nature Center by SBCC. The Rescue will save injured or orphaned raptors as they are rehabilitated and then returned to the urban wild, for those who can survive in the wild again. This event also served as the launch for Los Angeles County donor campaign for the first Raptor Rescue that will serve Los Angeles County. Notice the word first. There will be more.

Born and raised in Riverside, Julian has been photographing its natural and urban landscape for the past couple of decades. As a staff photographer for the Riversider Magazine over the past few years, he has had the opportunity to photograph many local landmarks, community events, and beautiful vistas for the benefit of the magazine and the city of Riverside, which has been a very rewarding experience.

Originating from Riverside, California, The BellRays have been mixing punk, rock and soul with the unique authenticity that has made them who they are today. Commenting on their new single, Hard Drive, vocalist Lisa Kekaula gets back to the beginning of what became their upcoming album, Heavy Steady Go!. “This is our longest labor of love creating a song. Earliest drafts of this song are in recording sessions from 2012. We even recorded it twice recently in the Tucson session and the final version coming from Sweet Gee Studios in Riverside. That is where the magic happened.”

Kandy G Lopez, a multidisciplinary Afro-Caribbean American artist, critically engages with the complexities of identity and marginalization. Lopez’s fiber-based artworks serve as a powerful medium to navigate the intricacies of ancestry, race, class, and gender. As an artist, Lopez is driven by a desire to represent marginalized individuals who inspire and move her, constantly seeking challenges both materialistically and metaphorically. Her works are born from a deep-seated need to explore and learn about her people and culture, fostering a dialogue between the artwork and the viewer. This exhibition features her large-scale fiber works – portraits “painted” with yarn.
