CHIPPEWA FALLS — An 18-year-old Holcombe woman charged with pointing a gun at another person appeared in Chippewa County Court on Wednesday for a review hearing.

Destiny Rhodes, 26840 Highway M, has been charged with intentionally pointing a firearm at another — domestic abuse and disorderly conduct by use of a dangerous weapon — domestic abuse.

Rhodes appeared in person in court, where Judge Benjamin Lane set a return date for Aug. 14.

Rhodes previously posted a $100 cash bond and remains free on bond. As terms of Rhodes’ release, she cannot possess or use firearms and cannot have any contact with the victim, the victim’s family or the victim’s residence. She is allowed a one-time visit to a home to collect her personal belongings, which she must arrange through the Crime Victim Witness office.

The Chippewa Falls Police Department was the arresting agency.

According to the criminal complaint, police met with a victim on April 17, who said Rhodes had driven up to a home in Chippewa Falls with a firearm in her hand.

“(The victim) stated the firearm was by her waist but pointed in the direction of the vehicle,” the complaint reads. “Ms. Rhodes then threatened to shoot and pistol whip (the victim). (The victim) said that the firearm was pointed in the direction of (the victim) and (another victim).”

Rhodes denied having a firearm and said she had a vape cartridge that could have looked like a gun. However, others present confirmed to law enforcement that Rhodes had a gun.

“The firearm was located and a records check was conducted, which reported the firearm was stolen,” the complaint reads.

Rhodes has since been charged with bail jumping, stemming from a separate incident on April 27.
