Woman arrested on suspicion of driving drunk with minor in car

CHIPPEWA FALLS — A Chippewa Falls woman accused of driving drunk with a minor in her car has been arrested.

Megan E. Johnston, 35, 400 Pumphouse Road, appeared via video from the jail Monday for a bond hearing in Chippewa County Court on possible charges of OWI-3rd offense with a minor in the vehicle and two counts of bail jumping.

Judge Benjamin Lane ordered Johnston be held on a $500 cash bond. If Johnston posts bond, she cannot possess or consume illegal drugs, cannot drive without a valid license, and must comply with all pretrial monitoring conditions.

In addition to the felony charges, Johnston was cited for refusing to take a test for intoxication.

Johnston was charged in January with possession of narcotic drugs, controlled substances, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She also was convicted of possession of meth in Dunn County Court in 2019.
