CHIPPEWA FALLS — An Eau Claire man charged with allegedly placing a recording device in a girl’s bedroom and recording nude images of her appeared in Chippewa County Court on Thursday.

Jeremy M. Reimann, 44, 1218 Archer Lane, was charged in Chippewa County Court in October with capturing an intimate representation without consent and possessing an intimate representation without consent.

Reimann appeared in court Thursday for a preliminary hearing before Judge James Isaacson. Chippewa Falls police officer Joan Lawcewicz testified and her police report was introduced into evidence.

Chippewa County District Attorney Wade Newell told Isaacson about how the victim’s brother found the camera. Isaacson found probable cause that Reimann committed a crime, and he set arraignment for July 30.

Reimann was released last October after posting a $5,000 cash bond. As conditions of his release, Reimann cannot have any contact with the victim or her residence. Isaacson continued the bond Thursday.

Court records indicate the girl is 14. The incident happened at a home in Chippewa Falls.

According to the criminal complaint, a person in the house “came across some hidden cameras in (the girl’s) bedroom.”

The person who found the devices “stated the camera would capture whatever (the girl) was doing in her bedroom at the time of the recording. (He) stated that he looked at some of the videos and that some of the videos captured inappropriate images.”

For instance, in one video, the girl entered her room and took off her robe and was naked. The video was stamped with a date from April 2023. The video was later located on Reimann’s personal computer.

Police interviewed Reimann on Oct. 19, 2023, who “admitted to placing the hidden camera in (the girl’s) bedroom, as some things had come up missing in (her) bedroom,” the complaint reads. “Mr. Reimann admitted that (the girl) did not know about the hidden camera in her room. Mr. Reimann admitted to multiple downloads of videos of (the girl) nude. Mr. Reimann did say he would delete the videos.”

Police executed a search warrant for electronic devices at the house on Oct. 20, 2023.

Online court records indicate Reimann has not been previously charged with a crime in Wisconsin.
