NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the period for filing affidavits of candidacy for the office of School Board Member of Independent School District No. 2144 shall begin on July 30, 2024, and shall close at 5:00 o’clock p.m. on August 13, 2024. The last day to withdraw is August 15, 2024.
Last Civil War soldier buried in Isanti, Chisago County to be honored July 13
A ceremony to honor Private Benjamin Olof Bong, the last Civil War veteran buried in Isanti County, will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 at Union Cemetery in Cambridge. The event, hosted by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War with assistance from the Isanti County Historical Society and the Cambridge American Legion Post 290 Veterans Honor Guard, is open to veterans, Civil War history enthusiasts, and the general public. Attendees are encouraged to wear Civil War era attire.

The Chisago County Board of Adjustment and Appeals will meet on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. in the County Board Room at the Chisago County Government Center, 313 N. The Board’s tour of the agenda item(s) has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 8:15 a.m., departing from Chisago County Public Works at 31325 Oasis Road, Center City, MN. The meeting and tour are open to the public.
