Landmark Properties, W5 Group to Develop 600-Bed Community Near Syracuse University
Syracuse, N.Y. — A partnership between Landmark Properties and W5 Group has acquired a 2-acre site for the development of The Standard at Syracuse, a student housing project near Syracuse University in New York. The development will be located at 910 Madison St. in the city’s University Hill neighborhood. Upon completion, the community will offer over 600 beds across 210 units in studio through five-bedroom configurations. Each unit will be fully furnished and offer bed-to-bath parity. Shared amenities will include a 24-hour fitness center, sauna, study areas and a large outdoor hot tub. The community will also feature a 220-space parking garage for resident use. The property was formerly home to the Temple Concord sanctuary, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The sanctuary will be preserved and incorporated in the development as a 4,750-square-foot amenity space. Current plans for the building call for the transformation of the space into a gathering area. Landmark Construction, the in-house general contractor for Landmark Properties, will manage construction of the project, a timeline for which was not provided.
