Rome, N.Y. — Rome residents harmed by severe thunderstorms and a tornado that plowed through the city last week can soon apply to a recovery fund, officials said. ROME — The city of Rome has released guidelines on how to remove green waste and structural debris in the wake of last week's tornado. City, county and state public works employees have cleared the streets in Rome and have begun removing green waste from curbs and sidewalks, officials said. Cicero, N.Y. — A restaurant that combined a quirky diner, a classic sports pub, a pizzeria and one of Upstate New York’s best-known wing brands has closed permanently. The Cicero Eatery at 7785 Frontage Road closed Sunday, said Robb Bidwell, who owns the business with partner Doug Balle. It opened in 2021 as a second location for Armory Square’s Modern Malt diner, then transitioned to the Cicero Eatery in March 2023.
