    Beaufort County deputies investigating shots-fired incident

    CHOCOWINITY, N.C. (WNCT) — The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened early on Saturday.

    Deputies responded at 2:38 a.m. to the Happy Daze bar at 4203 Hwy 17 South in Chocowinity for a report of shots fired outside of the business. They found a vehicle that was damaged by gunfire and multiple handgun and rifle shell casings on the ground. Officials said those involved fled the area before the deputies arrived.

    There were no injuries reported. The investigation is ongoing.
