H Street Northeast, NOMA-ish, H Street Cooridor...There are so many different names for an area of DC known for constant change and as the Washingtonian described:

The Northeast neighborhood is known for nightlife, restaurants, pop-ups, festivals and communal atmosphere.- Washingtonian

From the streetcar to the high walkability to the culture to the food, we wanted to highlight 3 of our favorite vegan spots in the H Street Northeast area of Washington, DC.

FARE WELL (406 H St. NE)

In 2016, the Washingtonian hailed them as DC's first vegan diner, bakery and bar. And boy have they grown!

Vegan hot "pastrami" sandwich from Fare WellChoo and Roo

Fare Well prides itself as a "veggie-centric spot for comforting, home-made, everyday fare." They offer plant-based meals ranging from baked goods to breakfast to dinner. The owner, Doron Petersan, actually started DC's first vegan bakery, Sticky Fingers Bakery, then eventually opened Fare Well. Fun fact: Did you know they were champions of Food Network's cupcake wars twice!?

Last time we swung by, we ordered the Hot "pastrami" sandwich (see photo above) and southern fried wings with papas bravas. So yummy. We are looking forward to coming back to try some of their baked goods. Click here to learn more!

FANCY RADISH (600 H St. NE)

POW POW (1253 H St. NE)

Pow Pow is a plant-based Asian, organic and kosher restaraunt in the heart of H Street Northeast. Their dishes are so flavorful and even better, they are packed with healthy ingredients.

General tsos, firecracker fingers and trolly fries from Pow Pow Choo and Roo

The name of this restaraunt alone fits perflectly with the impact the food has on your tastebuds. Some of our favorite dishes are general tsos, firecracker fingers and trolly fries. What are trolly fries you ask? Just fries topped with kimchi, cashew cheddar sauce, cilantro, Korean ketchup, & togarashi mayo. Go ahead and visit their website here and place an order!

Have you been to any of these H Street NE vegan restaraunts? If not, where do you want to try? Let us know in the comments below!
