Young and the Restless Star Courtney Hope Talks Adam's Betrayal & What Sally Will Do Next

The long-awaited moment for The Young & The Restless fans has arrived! With Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) already spilling the beans to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), it's now Adam Newman's (Mark Grossman) turn to come clean to Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope)!

"I think viewers will love it," Courtney Hope shared with Soaps In Depth. "I had a blast filming these scenes and this episode. We were all curious about how it would unfold. The four of us kept asking each other, 'Have you heard anything?' Since we only get scripts a short time in advance. So when it finally came out, it was thrilling to work with everyone and see it all come together. I hope fans enjoy it as much as we did."

The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Sally and Billy have been wary of Adam and Chelsea hiding something big. Now that Chelsea has admitted to Billy about her night with Adam in Baltimore, it's Adam's turn to fess up... even if he'd rather not!

"Adam has clearly lied to Sally's face, denying any intimacy with Chelsea," The Young and the Restless star explained. "Then Billy shows up, hinting at more to the story. Sally's been lied to so often, but she's no fool. I think Adam's been gaslighting her throughout this situation, making her doubt her gut feelings. So when Billy arrives, it's clear there's more going on, and Adam can't wiggle out of it this time.

"I don't think Adam would've revealed anything if Chelsea hadn't spoken up first," the actress continued. "Also, I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to twist the story somehow. If he could've reached Chelsea beforehand to make it all disappear so Sally wouldn't find out, I think that's what he would've done. He really doesn't want to tell Sally at all, but clearly, he has no choice now. He has to come clean. He's dug himself into a deep hole."

The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Adam's betrayal of Sally with Chelsea is bad enough, but his repeated lies, even when directly asked about his night in Baltimore, will trigger an explosive reaction from Sally.

"It's like a firework going off," Hope explained. "Sally's world lights up with anger, frustration, and deep hurt. She loves Adam deeply and wants their relationship to work. Finding out the truth after his blatant denials feels like a massive betrayal. That's what ignites her fury."

Sally's pain goes beyond just feeling betrayed. "Sally has grown to value and respect herself more, especially after the Ava situation," the Emmy winner shared.

"She's questioning what she's worth and what she'll allow in her life. There are many layers to her reaction as she processes this, but Adam's actions might be unforgivable to Sally, particularly the lying."

Hope continued, "If Adam had come clean earlier, Sally might have been hurt but possibly could have worked through it. But after he denied it multiple times when she asked directly, I think he may have sealed the deal. It's really unfortunate for Sally. I feel for her."

The actress believes that Adam's repeated lies have done the most damage. "By doubling down, even tripling down on his denials, Adam has potentially ruined any chance of reconciliation. It's a shame because Sally truly cares for him."

The Young and the Restless spoilers say that viewers can expect fireworks and intense drama as the truth comes to light. The fallout from this revelation promises to be gripping television.
