The Bold and the Beautiful Star Jacqueline MacInnes Wood Speaks Out, 'Steffy Lost All Hope'

The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) will finally break free from the cage during the week of September 2. Soaps Spoilers reports that John 'Finn' Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) suspects his cousin, Luna Nowaza (Lisa Yamada), could be the kidnapper.

Steffy, the resilient soap opera heroine who has survived countless perils - from shark attacks to cliff falls, drug addiction to gunshot wounds - now faces her most harrowing challenge yet. The murderous Luna has taken her captive after Steffy uncovered her deadly secret: Luna is responsible for two killings.

For Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, Steffy's three-time Emmy-winning portrayer, news of her character's latest ordeal was music to her ears. She tells Soap Opera Digest, "I'm thrilled when Brad [Bell, B&B's executive producer/head writer] puts Steffy in tough spots."

Wood is incredibly excited to work on this intense storyline with Lisa Yamada. "Lisa is fantastic," The Bold and the Beautiful star raves. "She gives her all and is a great scene partner. These scenes require a lot of back-and-forth and adjustments. She plays evil brilliantly."

The actress was pleased to learn that Steffy would be the first to figure out Luna's involvement in Tom and Hollis's deaths. "Absolutely," she confirms. "I think Steffy's past with Sheila has given her a sixth sense for spotting sociopaths."

However, Steffy's detective skills might not be enough to save her this time. Luna has caged her and revealed that the building will soon be demolished.

The Bold and the Beautiful star explains, "Steffy is at her wit's end. She thinks this is it." To make matters worse, Luna has also poisoned her. "She's terrified of being drugged again," Wood adds. "This is easily one of Steffy's top three worst experiences."

Fearing that Luna has contaminated her food and water, Steffy is going without. As hunger and thirst set in, her situation becomes increasingly dire. Wood notes, "She's getting very weak. She's scared she'll never see her kids, Finn, or her parents again, and her lack of food and water makes everything worse."

Steffy's chances of rescue are fading fast. "She told Finn she was leaving town, so why would he suspect anything?" Wood explains. "It's not like she disappeared into thin air."

The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say Luna makes it clear she's ready to let Steffy die. Steffy's realization that she might not survive "really starts Friday [August 30] when she's at rock bottom in the cage, but truly hits next week when Luna reveals more about her past and why she killed Tom and Hollis," Wood hints.

Of course, B&B fans know better than to write off Steffy — or Finn. Wood says, "Unknown to Steffy, but obvious to viewers, Finn knows something's wrong. Steffy and Finn have a connection, and I'm sure he won't give up."

But until a hero shows up, Wood sums up, "It's rough. She's tired, hungry, and probably still drugged."

Still, the actress reminds us that Steffy has plenty to fight for. "Without a doubt, her kids, Finn, and her parents, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Taylor (Rebecca Budig)," keep her going, she says, adding, "Steffy is Stephanie's granddaughter, and she inherited her strength and courage."
