The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Tuesday, October 8, tease that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) gets a late start for work. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) comes downstairs and asks her to go to lunch with him before heading to Jabot.
Soaps Spoilers reports that Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) and Alan Laurant (Christopher Cousins) arrive home from Paris. Jack is happy to see them, noting, "It's great to see smiling faces," while her glares at Diane.
Alan says they packed up his townhouse in Paris and had everything shipped to Genoa City. Alan offers to take Traci's bags upstairs; Diane follows him to help.
After they exit, Traci shares that she saw Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and that she is doing well. She should be home in time for Abby Newman's (Melissa Ordway) wedding.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Jack could use some good news, so he thanks his sister. He shares that things with Kyle are not any better. It has created tension with Diane as they struggle to accept that Kyle might never forgive them.
Cameron Pushes Sharon To Make The Next Move
At Sharon's cabin, she feels guilty about throwing Heather in the river. She thinks about that night. She finally tells herself to keep it together.
Sharon repeats, " Keep it together, Sharon," repeatedly. Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby) appears, urging Sharon to make the next move. It's time for her to call the police and lead them to Daniel's liquor cabinet.
She doesn't want to do that. Sharon wants him to leave her alone. She begs to talk to Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) instead. Cameron appears as Nick, telling Sharon he will always protect her. Just as she leaned in for a kiss, Cameron appeared to tell her to "knock it off."
Victor's Admission
At GCAC, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) meets with Michael Baldwin (Christian Leblanc). Victor shares that he bought Glissade and needs an attorney. Michael wonders what this is all about.
"First, you screw over Tucker McCall (Trevor St John) for Glissade, then plant Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) to run it."
Victor corrects Michael, "Kyle is running it solo."
"Ahh, so this is an attack on Jack Abbott. What could you possibly need an attorney for?" Michael asks.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Victor shares that Kyle stole Jabot's product and brought it to him. He agreed to put the product in production as long as Victor fired Audra. Now, Victor worries about the legal consequences.
Michael doesn't know what to say. At the least, this is theft and could be a legal mess for Glissade.
Traci and Alan go to the GCAC for lunch. After being seated, Traci gives him a history lesson on Victor and Jack's feud. She tells him as long as he isn't gunning for her brother, she is good with him.
Jack and Diane stop by GCAC, spotting Victor and Michael in a meeting. Jack tells Diane they can go somewhere else to eat, but Diane refuses.
"No, we'll stay. This is exactly where I want to be," as she glares in Victor's direction.
Jack & Diane's Tension
Sharon stops by GCAC and runs into Traci and Alan. She introduces them and asks about Ashley. Traci tells Sharon that she and Alan have a lot in common; Alan is a psychologist, and Sharon is a therapist.
At another table, Jack and Diane get into an argument. She gets annoyed when Jack stares at Victor. Jack doesn't think this is all Kyle's fault. Victor is a master manipulator. Diane sees it differently; Kyle is the one destroying their family, with or without Victor's help.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victor and Michael speculate about Diane and Jack's relationship. They both sense the tension between them. Michael wonders if it has anything to do with Kyle's Jabot sabotage. Victor doesn't know but won't shed tears if they end their marriage.
Diane and Jack argue about Kyle. She thinks he is to blame for their trouble with Victor. He is a grown man who betrayed them. Jack disagrees. Kyle wouldn't do this unless he felt disrespected.
Y&R spoilers say that Diane has had enough. She refuses to sit there and allow Jack to point the finger at her. She throws her napkin on the table and leaves GCAC.
Victor listens and tells Michael to chase after Diane. He points out that she is his friend. Michael gets up to comfort Diane and get information for Victor.
When Michael steps away, Victor walks to Jack's table. He jokes about Jack's behavior, asking if he forgot how to conduct himself publicly. Jack isn't in the mood for Victor's snide remarks.
Traci Asks Alan To Move In
After Sharon leaves Traci and Alan's table, Traci asks Alan to move into the mansion. He is hesitant at first. Traci explains she has plenty of space and knows her family would love the idea. Alan thinks that is a wonderful idea.
At the Jazz Lounge, Michael finds Diane at the bar. He asks her if she is okay. She shares that Jack is so consumed with Victor that it's taking over their lives. She speculates that Victor sent him to talk to her, but she isn't sure she should tell him anything.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Michael says he is her friend, and nothing she says will go any further. He is here to listen.
Faith Gives Nick & Mariah An Update
At Crimson Lights, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) meet Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster). Faith apologizes for dragging them out, but she has something to discuss. She tells them she has an update on her mom, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).
Faith tells them about Sharon going out late the night before. She claimed that she was feeling restless and needed to clear her head, but Faith wasn't so sure. She wonders if her mom is getting better at hiding her struggles.
Nick, Mariah, and Faith agree they must spend more time with Sharon. Nick says he will make a bigger effort, spending more time alone with Sharon so they can get a sense of her mental status.
Chance Asks Daniel Questions
At Daniel Romalotti, Jr's (Michael Grazadei) apartment, Chance drops by. Daniel thanks him for meeting him there because he doesn't want to leave Lucy alone. Chance asks if he heard anything from Heather's phone.
Daniel hasn't, adding that he followed his instructions and sent a text asking them to meet again. Daniel hopes the person who has her phone knows how important it is that he gets her phone back.
Chance urges Daniel not to get his hopes up about Heather's phone. He said they might not return it. Daniel doesn't understand why they'd contact him if they had no plans of returning it.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Chance says they need to examine other pieces of evidence. For example, how did a random person open her password-protected phone?
Daniel opens up about the stress the family has been under since Faith and Lucy's car accident. Chance knew about the accident and Lucy's drinking. What he did not know was Sharon's harassment.
Y&R spoilers say that Daniel explains that Sharon publically shamed them for their parenting skills and Lucy's attachment to Faith and blamed him for Cassie's death. The last run-in Heather had with Sharon was the day before her disappearance. Chance wants to hear more about that.
Daniel explains that the accident mirrored Cassie's death in many ways. The same families were involved, and it put Sharon on edge. She reacted by lashing out. Daniel explained that he understood Sharon's behavior and could look past it, but Heather couldn't. He thinks Sharon's treatment of Lucy and their family significantly affected Heather's need to get away.
Phyllis Apologizes For Faking Her Death
On the Crimson Lights patio, Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) talk about Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O'Briant). Phyllis shares that she was at the apartment, and Lucy broke her heart.
She was looking for a specific Heather Stevens' (Vail Bloom) necklace. She wanted to wear it to be close to her mom. When she finally found it, she put it on and fell asleep with Phyllis holding her.
Phyllis changes the subject to Chance Chancellor (Connor Floyd). The ladies agree that Chance will investigate and bring the killer to justice.
Y&R soaps say that Phyllis feels helpless and unsure how to help Daniel. Summer agrees but wonders if there is something else going on with her mom.
Phyllis admits that she feels guilty about when she faked her death. She made her kids feel like this and for nothing. If she could take it back, she would.
Daniel arrives to chat with Phyllis and Summer. They ask about Lucy. Daniel says she didn't want to go out but promised to call him if she needed anything.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Daniel admits that the more he learns about Heather's death, the less it makes sense. He doesn't understand why she was by the river. It just doesn't make sense to any of them.
Paul Has A Heart Attack
She Knows Soaps reports that Daniel steps away to take a phone call. When he returns to the table, he reveals that it was a hospital in Portugal. Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) had a heart attack after learning about Heather. He will recover but cannot travel for Heather's memorial service.
Daniel and Phyllis go inside Crimson Lights. Nick hugs Daniel and tells him to call him if they need anything. Faith sends her love to Lucy. Nick asks how Paul is handling Heather's death. Daniel reveals that Paul had a heart attack after learning about his daughter's death.
Sharon, who just arrived at work, overheard about Paul. She gasped as the weight of her actions affected Paul.
Sharon's Date
Y&R spoilers say that Sharon offers her condolences to Daniel and hopes Paul has a speedy recovery. After Phyllis and Daniel leave, Nick asks Sharon if she has dinner plans.
She says she is free, which Nick is glad. "It's a date," Nick says.
Sharon misreads Nick's intentions. He wants to keep an eye on her, but she thinks the dinner is a do-over and could lead to their reunion.
At Society, Summer tells Chance about Paul's heart attack. He is visually shaken by the news. She asks what his gut is telling him about Heather's death.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Chance thinks it was someone close to her. He wonders if she planned to meet someone by the river. He hints that Heather could have been cheating on Daniel and it was her lover.
