The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Thursday, October 17, tease that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) asks Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) if she received the email from the accounting department. She nods, refusing to speak to Jack as she types on her laptop.
On Crimson Lights patio, Claire Newman (Hayley Erin), Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), and Cole Howard(J Eddie Peck) watch Jack and Diane's table. Soaps Spoilers reports that Claire has been watching their table for 20 minutes, and they are sitting in silence, only looking up to glare at each other.
Claire tells her parents that she feels terrible for the Abbotts. Kyle Abbott's (Michael Mealor) attitude toward his parents is causing tension, and now Jack and Diane are having marital problems.
At Jack and Diane's table, Jack asks Diane why she is okay with sitting in silence and not acknowledging his presence. Diane blows him off. She tells Jack she doesn't understand why he is answering emails when he should look into legal charges against Kyle.
"Better yet, JACK, why don't you have our son arrested for corporate theft?" Diane yells. Jack's mouth drops open, as he clearly doesn't want to involve law enforcement in the Kyle situation.
Claire tells her parents she wishes to help the Abbotts solve their problems. Cole and Victoria think Claire should stay away from their family problems. Her job is to take care of Harrison, and that's it.
Claire says it's hard not to get involved. She is around them constantly, and she feels terrible about the drama Kyle is causing.
Jack & Diane Disagree About Kyle
Meanwhile, Diane asks Jack if he has talked to the legal department. He replied that he did, and they said they needed more concrete evidence. They can't do anything with a suspicion.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Diane loses it on Jack. She accuses him of going easy on Kyle. She tells him that he needs to face the fact that his relationship with Kyle is over. They can't allow him back into their lives after he blatantly stole from Jabot.
Jack doesn't think pushing for Kyle to face the consequences of stealing the Jabot formula is a good idea. After all, he knows who the real theft is, suggesting Victor is responsible.
Diane refuses to hear that. She believes Kyle needs to pay for his crime. Jack disagrees. Diane thinks Jack is blind to Kyle's schemes and hopes their son will snap out of it.
Frustrated, Diane tells Jack that this is why she is sitting in silence. It's better if they don't talk because they aren't on the same page regarding Kyle.
After Jack leaves, Claire tells her parents things are getting more tense between the Abbotts. Victoria agrees; she has never seen Jack lose his cool like that. He is usually "discreet."
Victoria Vows To Stop Victor's Abbott Scheme
Claire tells her mom that Victor plays a role in this Abbott drama. "What has my father done, now?" Victoria asks.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Claire tells her parents that Jack thinks Victor is the mysterious Glissade investor and responsible for Kyle's change in attitude.
That doesn't surprise Victoria. She didn't expect this, but nothing surprises her about his schemes. She warns Claire to stay out of the war because Jack and Victor have a decades-long war, and no one wins.
Victoria says that Victor can be ruthless but is also kind, generous, and a wonderful father and grandfather. Usually, it balances out in the end, but sometimes, he takes things too far.
Cole reminds Claire that Victor is her family, so she should stay out of the drama. Regarding Kyle, Cole thinks his daughter should decide how much she can tolerate, considering her relationship with Kyle isn't permanent.
Claire reveals that Kyle trusts her and believes she can help him. She cannot cut him out of her life over this. Victoria understands and begs her daughter to protect her heart.
After Claire leaves to meet Kyle, Victoria cries to Cole. She doesn't understand why her dad keeps doing this. It feels like he only wants to cause everyone pain around him.
Victor's Promise To Kyle
At GCAC, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) meets with Kyle. They discuss Glissade, which Kyle says the company is on the right foot with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) out of the picture. Victor warns Kyle about Jack. He urges him to be cautious because his dad won't let his theft scheme go.
Victor tells Kyle that he will cover whatever comes from the Jabot theft. But he warns that Jack and Diane won't let this slide, so they must be on their toes and alert to any pending turmoil.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Kyle orders a drink at the bar. Diane shows up and asks to talk to him. She congratulates him on the new product. She cannot believe he would stoop so low as to steal from his own family.
Kyle refuses to discuss it. After bickering about it, Kyle suggests that Diane do him a favor and stay away from him.
Back in the Jazz Lounge, Jack shows up to confront Victor. Jack tells Victor that he needs to stop using his son to get to him. He accuses Victor of corrupting his son to take down the Abbott family.
Victor refuses to engage. He tells Jack to run along because his temper tantrum won't work.
Jack accuses Victor of corrupting his son and manipulating him to steal from Jabot to settle the score over Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). He tells him that he blames him for the overdose and putting Nikki in danger. But this is overboard.
Victor smiles at Jack, asking if he is done with his accusation. Jack warns Victor that this is not over.
Jack & Diane's Public Showdown
At the bar, Diane tells Kyle that his dad may not want to hold him accountable for his actions, but she will. She will ensure he is punished to the full extent of the law. Jack sees Kyle and Diane arguing and stops it.
"Okay, enough; this has to stop right now," Jack says.
Diane replies, "Thank you. It is enough." Jack tells Diane, "I was talking to you. Leave Kyle alone."
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Diane cannot believe Jack is taking Kyle's side. She accuses him of "coddling a criminal." Jack fires back, saying Kyle isn't the criminal. They know who the real thief is, suggesting Victor is pulling the strings.
Jack yells that he refuses to hold Kyle accountable. He cannot destroy his relationship with Kyle. Diane admits she doesn't want a relationship with her son. She says that he is a selfish, entitled brat. He isn't the sweet boy she raised.
Victor and Claire watch as Jack and Diane exchange insults. Jack points out that Diane didn't raise Kyle; she walked out on him. That dig gets to Diane as Victor watches and smiles.
Diane cannot believe Jack would say that to her. He stands by his comment. She is turning out to be exactly what everyone said she was, "a raging narcissist who only cares about her needs."
Y&R spoilers say that Diane cannot believe Jack would talk to her that way. She says, "I can't believe you'd say this after everything I have been through."
Jack cannot believe his ears. He tells her she left Kyle when he needed her as a young boy. She returned to Genoa City and conned everyone with her perfect act. She convinced him to give her the CEO job at Jabot. He cannot believe he has been so blind. But now, his eyes are wide open.
Diane leaves. Kyle watches and seems upset about what he witnessed. Claire goes to Kyle's side to comfort him.
Summer Vouches For Daniel
At Society, Chance Chancellor (Connor Floyd) meets with Summer Newman (Allison Lanier). She has been waiting for an update after the search of Daniel Romalotti, Jr's (Michael Grazaidei) apartment.
Chance tells Summer he found "disturbing" evidence in the apartment. Summer seems shocked by that revelation. Chance tells Summer that it doesn't look good for Daniel.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Chance tells Summer they found shocking evidence in the apartment. He asks if it is possible that Daniel did something to Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom).
She Knows Soaps reports that Summer refuses to accept that. She knows Daniel would never hurt Heather. She asks for details on what they found, but he can't share. He urges her to talk to Daniel about the evidence and its possible explanation.
Daniel Stuns Phyllis
At Chancellor Park, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) meets Daniel. She tells him she got his text and wants an update on the apartment search. Daniel says Chance asked him to leave the apartment for a forensic search.
Daniel shares that he feels like he is losing his mind. He isn't sure what is real anymore. Phyllis reaches to comfort Daniel, but he pulls away.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Daniel reveals that Chance found bloody towels and Heather's phone in the apartment. He tells her that wasn't even the worst part.
Heather's phone password had been changed. She typed a message to Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) that she never sent. She told her dad she was coming to Portugal because her relationship with him was getting volatile, and she was scared of him.
Phyllis doesn't understand. It doesn't sound like Heather. She doesn't know what is going on and who would set him up, but it's clear that something is very wrong. They WILL get to the bottom of it.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Phyllis begs Daniel to eat. He hasn't eaten anything in days, and she's worried. Daniel can't eat. He feels like he is growing. He can't make sense of anything right now.
He shares that none of the things, between the bloody towels, the phone, and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) telling Chance they were fighting, make sense. Phyllis doesn't understand what Sharon has to do with this.
Daniel says that Chance interviewed Sharon, and she told him that she had spoken to Heather before her disappearance. She told Sharon that they had been fighting, and she was upset.
Phyllis doesn't believe it, as Heather wouldn't open up to Sharon. In fact, Phyllis doesn't trust anything Sharon says. She has been unstable lately, and this proves it.
Daniel and Phyllis go over Sharon's story, and it doesn't make sense. Phyllis wonders why Heather would unburden her problems on the woman terrorizing them.
Phyllis finds it odd that Sharon confessed this to a police officer. It is almost as if Sharon was setting up an alibi or possibly framing Daniel. At any rate, Phyllis vows to find answers.
Summer arrives and hugs her brother. He leaves to call Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O'Briant). After he steps away, Phyllis updates Summer about the apartment evidence and Sharon's story about Heather and Daniel fighting.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Summer doesn't believe Daniel would hurt Heather. Phyllis thinks that, too. But it is terrifying that their only hope for the truth in this case is Chance. He has to find out the truth.
Phyllis tells Summer that they are lucky that Chance is on the case. If it were any other officer, Daniel would be locked up already. But he will have a legal battle if they don't figure this out soon.
Daniel Needs An Attorney
Summer meets Chance at Society to discuss Daniel. She begs Chance to find out what happened because her brother did not do this. Chance doesn't know what to think, especially after the blood analysis comes back.
It came back positive for Heather's blood, which is concerning because there was "a lot of blood" on the towels.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Summer asks Chance what that means. Chance can't say, but if he were Daniel, he would get an attorney. There are no other suspects in the case but her brother.
At Chancellor Park, Daniel worries about telling Lucy about the apartment search results. She knows the police searched the apartment, but he hasn't revealed any details. Phyllis will tell Lucy with him. Lucy arrives and asks what they need to say to her.
Phyllis and Daniel tell Lucy that someone is trying to frame him for Heather's murder. Lucy looks at her grandma and dad, terrified.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Daniel's arrest is certain. Phyllis will stop at nothing to prove her son's innocence.
