Owensboro Sportscenter to host All "A" state basketball championship
A location change will be in effect this winter for the All “A” Classic State basketball championship. The tournament, which was previously held at Corbin Arena in Corbin, KY and Richmond’s EKU campus before that, will make its way to western Kentucky, joining cheerleading, softball and baseball.

Patty Gail Clark, 68, of Owensboro passed away on July 16, 2024, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. The Owensboro native was born September 6, 1955, to parents Ira, Sr. and Mary Lois Embry. Patty was a devout Christian that loved God first and foremost. She was a member of Garden Green Baptist Church here in Owensboro. Patty worked at Goodwill and truly enjoyed her job, helping others, meeting new people, and quickly turning them into friends. She was a warm, loving woman, as bright as her favorite flowers, sunflowers. Quality time spent with family was cherished deeply.
John Alan Bunch
John Alan Bunch, of Eddyville, Ky., passed away on July 5, 2024, in Paducah, Ky., at the age of 53. Born on Sept. 30, 1970, in Evansville, Ind., and raised in Boonville, Ind. John was a loving husband to his wife, Ladonna Bunch, with whom he shared a beautiful life in Eddyville. He was the father of Rachel Gurren of Owensboro, Ky., who is married to Alex Gurren, and the grandfather of Ethan, Isaac, and McKenzie. His parents, David and Kathy Bunch, reside in Henderson, Ky., and his brother Jason Bunch, along with his wife Amy and his niece Emma and nephews Lucas, Wesley, Samuel, and Micah continue to live in Henderson as well.

Owensboro attorney indicted on adult exploitation charges
An Owensboro attorney who specializes in elder law, and two other members of his office, were indicted by a grand jury in Ohio County earlier this week. Darron L. Brawner, a laywer who owns Western Kentucky Elder Law on Frederica Street, was indicted Monday on one count of knowingly exploitating an adult (loss of more than $300), and four counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.
