CHUBBUCK — Much of Chubbuck is without power, including the traffic lights on some of the city's busiest roads.

The lack of working traffic lights at Yellowstone Avenue and Chubbuck Road appears to have caused a two-vehicle wreck, which happened shortly after the outage occurred around 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

The occupants of both the car and pickup towing a trailer involved in the crash were being treated at the scene by Pocatello Fire Department paramedics and it wasn't immediately clear if their injuries were serious enough for them to be transported to the hospital.

Multiple Pocatello Fire Department ambulances along with Chubbuck police and fire units responded to the wreck.

The Yellowstone Avenue-Chubbuck Road intersection is currently partially blocked because of the crash and motorists should avoid the area.

Idaho Power is reporting that over 1,000 of its customers in Chubbuck are without electricity. The outage was caused by "line interference," according to Idaho Power.

Idaho Power expects to have electricity restored to everyone by 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
