Right hander Luis Gil pitched good enough to get the win throwing 107 pitches through five innings. The Angels made him work by throwing 35 pitches in the first two innings. His best inning was the last, when he retired the side in order with 16 pitches in the fifth.

Aaron Judge was 2 for-3 with another intentional walk in the bottom of the eigth with 2 outs and nobody on base. The Yankees are 8-1 in their last nine games.
