Miserable twelve innings for the Yankees as Cleveland wins 9-5

Bronx, NY (New York Yankees App) - The Yankees blinked first in a miserable twelve inning game which contained more blunders and oddities that are worth counting as Cleveland defeated the Yankees 9-5 at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

Aaron Boone had to use the entire bullpen to keep up with Cleveland, who finally exploded in the top of the 12th inning with six runs. The Yankees got off to a great start with back-to-back home-runs by Juan Soto and Aaron Judge in the bottom of the first inning. Soto and Judge have now gone back-to-back five times this season.

Yankees will look to rebound in game 2 of the series at the stadium on Wednesday night.
